Module C (conformity to type based on internal production control) covers typically only the product’s production phase and follows conformity assessment module B.
Here, the manufacturer must make sure that the product’s conformity to the type specified in the EC-type examination certification is present and all legislative requirements applicable to it are met.
Conformity assessment module C has a common point with module A: the manufacturer, alone, needs to make sure that the product is compliant. However, the difference between both modules is that module C requires the same conformity to be evaluated against an approved EC-type, resulted under module B.
Module C doesn’t require a notified body to take action. On the contrary, the manufacturer is the one responsible for performing all checks that a notified body would have to do.
